Police Looking For Vehicle That Hit 61-Year-Old Man Walking Across The Street

JAMESTOWN – Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person responsible for hitting a 61-year-old man walking at the corner of E. 6th and Pine Streets in Jamestown early Tuesday morning.

Jamestown Police say the man suffered serious injuries to his lower legs while walking across the intersection of E. 6th and Pine Streets just before 5:30 a.m.





The man was taken to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital for treatment following the hit-and-run crash. His current condition is unknown, however police say the injury, although serious, is not considered to be life threatening.

Officers are looking for a dark colored sedan, believed to be a Chevrolet Impala, which may have front end damage.

The vehicle, police say, was captured on traffic cameras turning left on to Pine Street, then turning east on to E. 5th Street where it continued to East 2nd Street and eventually south on Winsor Street to English Street.





















Investigators are currently examining traffic camera and surveillance video from the area; and through the areas where the vehicle traveled.

They are asking anyone who may have information on this incident or know the whereabouts of this vehicle to contact them at 483-7537, via the Anonymous Tips Line at 483-Tips (8477) or the Tips 411 App. Police say all calls and tips are kept strictly confidential.

Additionally, Crime Stoppers WNY are accepting tips for this case at 716-867-6161 or via CrimeStoppersWNY.org. Police say tipsters could be eligible to receive an award for info that leads to an arrest of the driver of the wanted vehicle.
