JAMESTOWN – Two people were arrested after allegedly verbally fighting following Sunday night’s Black Lives Matter protest in Jamestown.

Video posted by the 716 Network Facebook page shows one man was taken into custody following an altercation near the corner of East 2nd and Pine Street around 11:30 p.m.

Police say Jason Burham, 32, of Ashville, and Michael Burham, 31, of Russel, are charged with disorderly conduct and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said both allegedly displayed a folding knife during the altercation. They were taken to Jamestown City Jail and later released with appearance tickets. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Around a dozen officers from the Jamestown Police Department were on scene. A group of around twenty gathered on the sidewalk, at times taunting the police, saying “you did your job, now leave,” and, “what do we want? Justice!”

Earlier in the evening around one hundred people gathered at City Hall calling for justice following the George Floyd killing. The protest started around 6 p.m. with music and lasted late into the night.
